Climate resilience funding for coastal communities

Tuesday, July 18, 2023/Categories: News Board

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration released a new round of funding for climate resilience from the Inflation Reduction Act. This funding for coastal communities has no matching requirements!

NOAA recently released the Notice of Funding Opportunity for their Climate Resilience Regional Challenge. This program provides approximately $575 million in funding from the Inflation Reduction Act for investing in holistic, collaborative approaches to coastal resilience at regional scales. The Climate Resilience Regional Challenge has two distinct and exclusive funding tracks: Track one will support Regional Collaborative Building and Strategy Development ($25 million), with a focus on laying the groundwork for future resilience efforts; Track two will support Implementation of Resilience and Adaptation Actions ($550 million), with a focus on implementing climate adaptation actions.
