Carson elected President of the Virginia Municipal League

Richmond: At the Virginia Municipal League’s Annual Business Meeting held on October 3, 2022, Town of Pennington Gap Vice-Mayor Jill Carson was elected as President of VML.

On Carson’s election, VML Executive Director Michelle Gowdy commented, “Vice- Mayor Carson is a tireless champion of her community and VML welcomes her resilience, passion, and commitment to local governments. I couldn’t be more thrilled to have her as our new president.”

Vice-Mayor Carson was first elected to VML’s Executive Board in 2016. The board oversees the activities of the League. Representatives of the Executive Board must be elected or appointed officials of a city, town, or county that is a member of VML.
