Housing data needed for presentation to joint committee meeting

VML is presenting to a joint meeting of the House Counties, Cities and Towns and Senate Local Government committees next Friday, October 23. The focus of the presentation is to provide legislators with an overview of the current state of housing approvals across the Commonwealth.

To ensure this presentation is as accurate and informative as possible, we would appreciate if you could please send us a copy of your recently submitted DHCD local housing survey (see attached). The information provided by your locality will be aggregated and used as part of the narrative of our presentation.

If possible, please also include the following information in your response:

  1. The number of total approved units that have yet to be built in your locality. More specifically, residential units with at least zoning or subdivision approval.
  2. To the extent possible, please break down the number of approved units by single-family, townhouse, and multi-family (apartments and condos).
  3. Additionally, it would be helpful if you’re able to provide an ‘as of’ date or some additional context for the number and how often it’s updated.

Please send your responses, comments, and any questions to Jessica Dennis (jdennis@vml.org) by Monday October 19.

Thank you for your assistance and providing feedback on a tight timeline.
