The purpose of this job within the organization is to administer, interpret and enforce the Zoning Ordinance. This job works independently, under limited supervision, reporting major activities through periodic meetings. The functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this job. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the job as necessary. Essential functions for this position include but are not limited too, Reviews building permits, site plans, and business license applications for compliance, Conducts site inspections generated by permits, complaints or general inquiries, Responds to public inquiries and complaints relating to the provisions of the Zoning Ordinance, Attends meetings requested by staff or the general public when zoning information, or when clarity is needed, Attends development review meetings and provides comments regarding zoning, Advises the Planning Commission, Board of Zoning Appeals and other officials on various zoning matters.
