WATER TREATMENT PLANT SHIFT SUPERVISOR
Job Description:
Loudoun Water is a public water and sewer utility that has an immediate opening for a Shift Supervisor at their Water Treatment Facility located in Leesburg, VA.
The Shift Supervisor will assist in ensuring the facility is operational and meets permit requirements by performing routine operational tasks including skilled and technical work on treatment plant equipment and facilities. The Shift Supervisor will perform duties including SCADA process control, sampling and analysis, monitoring and controlling treatment operations, data entry, and preparing monthly reports. In addition, the Shift Supervisor will be responsible for the training and performance of the Plant Operator assigned to his or her shift. The facility utilizes advanced treatment technology and is subject to stringent standards and state regulations. All candidates must have the ability to communicate and relay information verbally and in writing to coworkers and superiors.
Minimum requirements include a current VA Waterworks Operator Class I license with a clean record, strong math skills and the ability to use logic to solve problems. Preference will be given to candidates with shift supervisory experience. Candidates must have a valid driver’s license.
The Water Treatment Facility is a round-the-clock operation and requires 24/7 staffing with 12 hour shifts. Operators are required to work rotating shifts over weekends and holidays; a sample schedule will be provided to candidates. Candidates must have the ability to work frequently scheduled and unscheduled overtime. Although most of the work is performed indoors, trips outside in all weather conditions will be required.
