Water Treatment Plant Operator II
Greensville County is accepting applications for an opening in its Water Department. The
Greensville County Water Treatment Plant Operator II performs complex, semi-skilled
work operating a water treatment plant; does related work as required. Work is
performed under regular supervision of the Chief Water Treatment Plant Operator.
The individual operates a water treatment plant, takes samples, performs routine tests,
ensures proper plant operation, maintains records and files, and prepares reports; makes
regular inspection of plant and equipment to ascertain that they are in proper plant operation
at all times and collects samples for testing; and performs tests relating to plant operations,
performs water quality analysis at well site and interprets lab results to make change in plant
operation as required.
Education: Graduation from high school or GED and three (3) years’ experience in the
operation of a water treatment plant.
Special Licenses/Certifications: Possession of an appropriate driver’s license valid in the
Commonwealth of Virginia. Possession of a Class II Water Treatment Operator’s Certificate
issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia. Must be at least 21 years of age. Background check
with law enforcement is required.

Grade 7 – Normal Hiring Range Trainee: $30,308 – $33,455
