Wastewater Treatment Plant Manager

Job Description:

WASTEWATER PLANT MANAGER

The Town of Warsaw seeks a full-time Class 2 Wastewater Treatment Plant Manager. Applicant MUST possess a valid VA Wastewater Class 2 license. The Manager will assist in ensuring the facility is operational and meets permit requirements by performing routine operational tasks including skilled and technical work on treatment plant equipment and facilities. The Manager will perform duties including SCADA process control, sampling and analysis, monitoring and controlling treatment operations, data entry, and preparing monthly reports. In addition, the Manager will be responsible for the training and performance of the Plant Operators. The facility utilizes advanced treatment technology and is subject to stringent standards and state regulations. All candidates must have the ability to communicate and relay information verbally and in writing to coworkers and superiors.

The applicant must possess the ability to work independently in everyday operation of the Town’s wastewater plant and work well with the public. Knowledge of computers, Microsoft office software, pumps, plumbing, mechanical devices, electricity, and electric motors is recommended. The ability to operate machine shop tools and other equipment is essential. Occasional lifting of up to 75 pounds can be expected. The position has full benefits. Position requires occasional weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed. Applicant must possess a valid driver’s license. Employment Requirements.
Graduation from an accredited high school.
Class 2 Wastewater License.
Electrical experience is preferred; managerial experience is also preferred.
Intermittent weekend and holiday work will be required, as needed.
Be of good character and reputation to pass an extensive background check.
Must pass a drug test prior to employment.
