We are recruiting for a Wastewater Operator at our Opequon Water Reclamation Facility.
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required. Possession of a valid and appropriate driver’s license. Ability to complete within 9 months from receipt, California State University Sacramento, Operation of Wastewater Treatment Plants Volume I Course. This is the first stage in our career development which requires obtaining a Class 4 Wastewater Works License within 1 year.
It is strongly recommended to continue career development with a Class 3 Wastewater Works License within 2 years, Class 2 Wastewater Works License within 3 years, and completion with Class 1 Wastewater Works License within 5 years. Salary adjustments are delivered for each phase of career development. All timelines are from date of hire and licenses are issued by the Virginia Department of Professional Occupation and Regulation.
Starting Salary based on Licensure:
Operator Trainee – $30,971.20
Operator 4 – $32,531.20
Operator 3 – $35,859.20
Operator 2 – $39.520.00
Operator 1 – $45,739.20
