Utility Electronics Technician II
Seeking an innovative and highly motivated team player to perform and be responsible for installing and inspecting utilities electronic equipment and control devices such as pressure recorders, telemetry systems, drain systems, turbidity meters, and chemical indicators for the Lake Gaston Water Treatment Plant and Northwest River Water Treatment Plant. Applicant should be capable of troubleshooting problems with related equipment in order to determine procedures for repair. Applicant should possess the skills to calibrate, replace, clean and/or repair related equipment and systems. Applicant should be able to prepare files and reports including records of repair and maintenance work completed. Applicant should be able to ensure all equipment meets given codes and guidelines. Applicant will assist with the maintenance and repair of pumps and other plumbing and mechanical equipment. Applicant should be proficient with operating computers and ability to use Microsoft Office Programs and Maximo Programs. Performs related tasks as necessary, such as recommending changes to operational functions of equipment and supervising subordinate staff. Applicant should be able to walk, stand, reach, bend, crawl, and climb ladders.
Employees may be expected to work hours in excess of, and/or outside of, their normally scheduled hours in response to short-term department needs and/or City-wide emergencies. Emergency operations support work and work locations may be outside of normal job duties.
