Transportation Planner

Job Description:

Fauquier County is currently seeking an experienced Transportation Planner with a diverse skill set and the ability to manage a variety of projects. This position within the Planning Division of the Department of Community Development is responsible for the planning, review and design of the county’s transportation plans programs and projects. Other primary responsibilities include coordinating the County’s Revenue Share projects, Smart Scale applications, Secondary Road Six Year Improvement Plan; and reviewing Traffic Impact Analysis reports.
Minimum requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in urban or transportation planning or a closely related field with a Master’s degree preferred; minimum 5 years of professional experience in transportation planning. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently, manage several projects concurrently, and have strong communication and writing skills.

Salary range is commensurate with qualifications and experience. Excellent benefits package.
