The Public Service Division of the Charlottesville Public Works Department is seeking a qualified candidate to join our team as a Traffic Technician I.
Preferred hiring range is between $16.20 to $21.00 an hour for this position. Starting offer is based on applicable education, experience, and internal equity. Minimum Qualifications:
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a high school diploma.
Must be able to obtain a Class A CDL within 12 months of hire.
Must have IMSA Traffic Signal Technician Level I Certification. Or the ability to obtain one within 6 months of hire.
Must have IMSA Signs and Pavement Markings Technician Level I Certification. Or the ability to obtain one within 12 months of hire.
Possession a valid driver’s license issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia or qualified and able to obtain a valid VA driver’s license prior to beginning the position. Proof of insurance.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in fulfilling work orders and general equipment maintenance preferred.
