Traffic Maintenance Inspector (Street Maintenance Inspector)

Job Description:

The Public Works Engineering Division is seeking candidates to be considered for the position of Traffic Maintenance Inspector (Street Maintenance Inspector). This position helps to assure quality work from contractors working on City streets or within the City’s right-of-way including traffic operations. Performs responsible technical work inspecting street maintenance and construction work performed by private contractors for specification compliance to local and state requirements. Does related work as required. Primarily and most frequently the work done here is performed independently, with diverse functional areas and more specialization and ability to consult on the work of others. Reports to the Traffic Engineer.

The hiring amount will be between $16.51 to $22.66 an hour ($34,342.77 to $47,132.80 annually). Starting offer is based on applicable education, experience, and internal equity. This is a full-time, non-exempt, position which provides excellent benefits including 13 paid holidays, paid vacation and sick leave, health insurance options with employer contribution, employer-paid life insurance, City’s retirement options, gym membership reimbursement, and continuing education/training opportunities.

Minimum Requirements:
– Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a High School Diploma or GED required.
– Minimum of three years of experience in street or traffic maintenance required.

– Requires possession of the following licenses/certifications (or ability to obtain in the first 36 months of employment): Intermediate Traffic Control.
