Town Manager – Town of Ponce Inlet, FL

Job Description:

Ponce Inlet, FL (population 3,430), located on Florida’s east coast, south of Daytona Beach, is seeking strategic and innovative town manager. Ponce Inlet is a Council/Manager form of government. The Town Manager is appointed by and answers to a five member Town Council. In addition to service operations, the Town Manager oversees all supporting administrative functions for finance, information technology and human resources.

The successful candidate must be a leader who brings integrity, strategic focus, vision, and be an advocate to public service. The Town Manager must have a record of success in developing and negotiating collaborative relationships. Experience with the development and implementation of performance standards is a priority. Successful pursuit of grants and the ability to leverage resources is highly desirable.

The Town Manager’s routine duties are complex and varied, requiring the ability to anticipate interests, needs and issues. The Manager will develop and execute plans for the goals articulated by the Town Council. Ponce Inlet residents are highly involved in community life and have high standards for the town’s quality of life. Town govern-ment strives to balance the demands of growth with the community interests in retention of a small-town life-style.

Successful candidate will have:
• Extensive knowledge of municipal government administration including government budgeting, personnel management, service operations, program development and regulatory requirements.
• Strong analytical and communication skills
• Minimum of eight (8) years government experience in a managerial capacity including administration of budgets and resources, staff development, process implementation, program evaluation, and policy devel-opment.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is required. Master’s Degree preferred.

Current compensation for this position is $150k +/- DOQ/E per year plus benefit package.
