The Town of Buchanan, Virginia is seeking applicants for the position of Town Manager. This position serves as the Chief Executive Officer for the Town and serves at the pleasure and direction of the Town Council. The Town of Buchanan is located in the northeast portion of Botetourt County, Virginia with a population of approximately 1,200 and provides water and sewer, garbage collection, planning and zoning and economic development services to its residents. The Town currently has 6 employees, contracts with vendors to provide some services, and has a total annual budget of $1,250,000. A bachelor’s degree in public or Business Administration or equivalent field is required. Work experience at a management level in a Virginia local government may substitute for educational requirements. The successful applicant must become and remain a full-time resident of the Town within approximately 12 months following the appointment. Salary based on qualifications and experience.
