Job Description:
Town Manager Position Open – Seeking Applications – Town of Glasgow, VA Population 1,450 and 1.5 sq. miles in area consisting of 550 residences, 28 businesses and 1 major industry. Glasgow is located in southeast Rockbridge County, in close proximity to Natural Bridge, Buena Vista, Lexington, and the City of Roanoke. It lies at the confluence of the Maury and James Rivers and close proximity to the Blue Ridge Parkway and the Appalachian Trail. Glasgow is an Appalachian Trail Community with a Town operated trail shelter. Manager reports to a Mayor and 6 member Town Council elected for 2 year staggered terms. Manager is responsible for managing daily operations of the Town to include public works, water & wastewater, police, planning, zoning, community development, and recreation. Requires knowledge of financial systems, budgeting, grants, and personnel administration. Requires Bachelors Degree (Masters preferred) in relevant field or related experience.
