The Town of Robersonville is seeking a qualified and professional candidate for position of Town Clerk. Performs professional and administrative work coordinating and participating in maintenance of official Town records and documents and performing additional administrative responsibilities designated by the Town Manager. Located in Martin County on U.S. Hwy. 64, Robersonville is nineteen (19) miles north of the City of Greenville (pop. 95,183), home to East Carolina University and Vidant Medical Center. Robersonville is also well-positioned between Raleigh, one-and-a-half hours to the west and the coast, just two (2) hours to the east. A successful candidate is one with thorough knowledge of modern office technology, office administrative practices and procedures, and the principles of vocabulary, grammar, spelling and composition. Ability to take notes of proceedings of official meetings and prepare accurate minutes; ability to proof-read documents and create rough drafts of memos and reports with ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment in making decisions in conformance with laws, regulations, and policies. Ability to maintain town’s website and social media platform for official announcements and maintain effective working relationships with media outlets.
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a two or four degree in public administration, public relations, communication, or related experience in office management work preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Salary hiring range is $37,000 to 41,000, negotiable depending on qualifications with excellent fringe benefits.
