Smyth County Director of Tourism
The Smyth County Tourism Board is seeking an energetic, team-oriented individual to market Smyth County and its towns. The Tourism Director is responsible for promoting tourism, stimulating economic development, and overseeing the operations of the Smyth County Visitor’s Center. Duties include but are not limited to: promotes tourism opportunities; prepares and executes marketing strategies and improvement plans; prepares press kits to media; prepares and submits grant applications; designs and develops tours of Smyth County for media, event planning, tour operators and travel agents; prepares marketing and promotional material, serves on committees that enhance tourism and fosters economic development.

Application review will begin November 13th, 2020 with the position recruitment open until filled. The minimum requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in marketing, public relations, business administration or related field and moderate experience in the tourism industry, or any combination of training, education and experience which provide the required skills.
