Senior Stormwater Engineer/Planner
Join our team in our Richmond, VA office as a Senior Stormwater Engineer/Planner in our Environmental Services group.
•Work under minimal supervision with broad guidelines, to assign, review, and evaluate the performance of new project orders; directing interdisciplinary project teams as needed to ensure project needs are met
•Ensure strict compliance with contractual requirements.
•Coordinate with Stantec leadership and client contacts routinely to explore future opportunities, budget planning, and staff resourcing needs.
•Primary responsibility for the development of fee proposals for a variety of sizes and complexities, working with other task managers as needed to address all technical disciplines.
•Oversee the design and evaluation of stormwater facilities and strategies, credit analysis of a variety of BMPs for TMDL Credit using regulatory guidance.
•Oversee stream restoration design and supporting modeling and calculations.
•Assist in the development of TMDL Action Plans and stormwater master planning.
•Assist with inspection of BMPs, municipal facilities, outfalls, field assessments for water quality studies, watershed walkovers, stream assessments, and other projects.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
•Strong project management credentials, including scoping, establishing schedules, project plan development, and routine tracking/reporting throughout project implementation.
•Proven capabilities/expertise in planning and design of stormwater BMP projects.
•Knowledge of stream restoration practices, crediting methods, design, Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) design manuals, procedures, and contracting requirements. Prior experience with VDOT projects preferred.
•Knowledge of TMDLs, Waste Load Allocations, Stormwater Management Program.
•Experience in Virginia MS4 Permit compliance.
•Must have a good driving record and valid driver’s license.
Education and Experience
•Bachelor of Science, Masters preferred, in Civil, Water Resources, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or other closely related degree required.
•Minimum of 12 years prior experience in a stormwater-related role required.
•Minimum of 2 years prior experience with large project or contract management responsibilities required.
•Professional Licensure (P.E.) highly preferred.
•Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
•Virginia DEQ Dual Combined Administrator certification preferred.
