To collaborate with students, staff, and other members of the health care team to improve the overall health of the students and staff. Assess, evaluate, and assume primary accountability for the effectiveness of such services and health care plans. Utilize critical thinking skills to provide quality service through a team oriented, collaborative approach to student health.
Assess, plan, implement and evaluate student health within the school district in order to achieve optimum health outcomes and maximize in-class time. Addresses the physical, mental, emotional and social health needs of all students. Review health records for entering students and assure compliance with Virginia Department of Health entrance requirements. Maintain student health records; collect health related data and complete required reports. As lone provider in school, provide care for all students presenting with illness, injury or special needs through assessment, intervention and follow up.
