Responsibilities: The Safety Manager is responsible for managing, developing, implementing and enforcing ACSA’s comprehensive Safety Program in compliance with local, state, and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations. Safety Manger ensures a safe, healthy, and accident-free work environment.
Required experience: Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health preferred or any equivalent combination of education, experience and/or training sufficient to demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities. Five (5) years’ experience in development, training, and administration of occupational health and safety programs. Preferred skills include previous safety training, inspection and/or risk management within a Water/Waste Water Treatment facility, Public Utility, or industrial arena. OSHA Outreach Training Institute 30 Hour General Industry Certification or equivalent is required. Must be able to work independently, with minimum supervision.
Required skills: Must possess the ability to deal with and maintain confidentiality of information. Ability to effectively and professionally interact with employees, the public, customers, contractors, vendors, media, local government, and agency officials. Ability to operate a motor vehicle and have a valid Driver’s License.
