Recreation Aide – Seasonal
Parks and Recreation Department. Seasonal position, no benefits. $11.01 per hour. Position assists with the implementation of a variety of athletic, recreation, playground and day camp activities, programs, services and events, including enforcement of program, facility and activity rules and regulations. Position receives visitors; responds to questions and provides information related to Parks and Recreation programs and activities; processes payments, registrations, rentals and transactions; assists with facilities preparation for programs and events, including cleaning and maintenance of facilities and equipment. Position will work up to 40 hours per week. This position is expected to last from approximately 06/04/2018 to approximately 08/17/2018.
Physical Requirements: This is light work requiring the exertion of up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, up to 10 pounds of force frequently and a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to move objects; work requires balancing, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, and repetitive motions; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; visual acuity is required for preparing and analyzing written or computer data, operation of machines, determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work, and observing general surroundings and activities; the worker is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions.
Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience. Some experience serving as a recreational aide or group leader. Exemplary customer service abilities required. Valid driver’s license required. Must be at least 18 years of age by June 4, 2018.
