Job Description:

CITY OF RADFORD JOB OPENINGS

The City of Radford has multiple openings in our Public Works Department. The successful candidates will perform a variety of unskilled and semiskilled manual labor tasks assisting with public works, water lines and solid waste and related operations. Ability to understand and follow specific oral instructions; ability to perform manual labor for extended periods, often under unfavorable weather conditions. Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school and some experience in performance of heavy manual work. Exertion of 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Some positions do not require a driver’s license; applicants in possession of valid driver’s license or Commercial Driver License valid in the Commonwealth of Virginia will be compensated at a higher rate of pay. Salary depends on position hired for and qualifications. Full-time employees are offered an excellent benefit package that includes enrollment in VRS and 100% employer paid insurance for employee medical and dental with no deductible. Successful completion of background check and pre-employment testing is a must.
