Public Utilities Trainee

Job Description:

Do you want a summer job that allows you to work outside while making a direct impact in the local community? If so, consider applying for the Public Utilities Trainee position!
The Public Utilities Trainee positions are seasonal, part-time positions (no benefits) with a preferred hiring rate of $12.21 per hour. Prior experience is not required as paid, on-the-job training will be provided. Employees selected for these positions will be subject to basic labor conditions and outdoor work in all types of weather for the duration of the positions, which is anticipated to be May 2022 – August 2022 (pending budget approval). Candidates who are not able to work from May 2022 – August 2022 are still encouraged to apply for consideration.

The Public Utilities Trainees will primarily be responsible for one of the following three projects and may indicate preferred project(s) upon application submission:
1. Performing fire hydrant maintenance and painting;
2. General grounds maintenance, including mowing; and
3. Customer service response in the field and summer meter maintenance.
