Property Maintenance Worker
Property Maintenance Worker – The City of Radford is seeking a PT Property Maintenance Worker in the Recreation Department. Hours will vary to include holidays, evenings and weekends. The successful candidate performs responsible unskilled work in the care and cleaning of buildings and facilities; does related work as required. Work is performed under the regular supervision of the Facilities and Grounds Supervisor. The Property Maintenance Worker must have thorough knowledge of building cleaning practices, supplies and equipment and the ability to use them economically and efficiently. Duties will include but not limited to sweeping, mopping, cleaning glass doors and windows and restrooms; responsible for setting up for special events. The Property Maintenance Worker must have the ability to understand and follow specific oral and written instructions. Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school. Physical ability to perform heavy manual work that includes exertion of up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds of force frequently and 20 pounds of force frequently to move objects; work requires considerable physical activity including walking, lifting, stooping, standing, grasping, balancing, climbing, kneeling and crouching; worker is subject to inside and outside environmental activities; visual acuity is required for visual inspection involving small defects and/or small parts, use of measuring devices and operation of machines; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels. The worker may be exposed to bloodborne pathogens and may be required to wear personal protective equipment. Salary $10.62/hour.
