Project Assistant – Victim/Witness Program

This position is the first contact point for crime victims in the City. The position provides immediate crisis intervention and triages victims based on need to appropriate victim witness and prosecution staff. This position fulfills the clerical duties for the office, including correspondence with victims, maintenance of client files and database entry essential to the program’s grant requirements. Provides administrative services to a department, including clerical, communications, outreach and planning assistance to the director/staff. Primarily and most frequently the work done here is under direct supervision, within one functional area, and of a routine nature.
The hiring amount will be $16.00 to $16.50 an hour. Starting offer is based on applicable education, experience, and internal equity. This is a full-time, non-exempt, position. – Any combination of education and experience equivalent to an associate’s degree. (Minimally, possession of a high school diploma or GED plus two years of relevant work experience may be considered equivalent.)
– At least two years of experience in related field.
– Previous experience working in a non-profit or human services field preferred.
– Previous experience related to crisis intervention or victim advocacy preferred.
