Riverside Community Corrections is seeking qualified applicants for a Probation Officer to conduct intake interviews; monitor clients’ progress; testify in court; supervise probationers; prepare files and records. Starting salary will be $49,335.
Successful candidate must have general knowledge of the criminal justice system, human behavior and interventions, case management, substance abuse, mental illness, community resources, and Evidence-Based Practices in community corrections; ability to communicate ideas effectively both orally and in writing; ability to make decisions and interpretations in accordance with established rules, policies, and procedures; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with offenders, stakeholders, and the general public.
Candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, social work, or human services supplemented by three years of related experience.
Successful candidate must complete the DCJS CORE Training within one year and obtain VCIN certification within 6 months from date of hire. Completion of a pre-employment drug testing and criminal background check, to include fingerprinting, is required.
