Job Description:
WEST POINT POLICE DEPARTMENT, located within the Town of West Point, Virginia, is seeking applicants for the position of Police Officer I.
Applicants must be 21years of age; Virginia DCJS certification preferred; criminal background and DMV history required. Physical examination to include a drug screen and polygraph examination and a psychological evaluation will also be required. Position is permanent and full-time while working during a probationary period. Position may be a night shift position. In the event a suitable certified candidate is not selected, consideration will be given to non-certified applicants.
Non-certified applicants will be required to attend a basic law enforcement academy at the department’s expense and sign a tenure agreement.
Full benefits package to also include the VRS/LEO enhanced benefit.
The starting salary for the position is $47189.00, consideration may be given depending on experience.
