career-minded individual to join the Planning Department as the Planning Coordinator. This position serves as the principal contact
and resource or planning projects, manages planning projects including monitoring work, project progress and assisting with the
development project review processes. This position will also serve as the liaison for both the customers and city departments to
disseminate information related to ongoing planning projects and requests.
This position is responsible for managing, administering, and coordinating all aspects of major and complex planning projects. You will ensure coordination of all phases of planning, implementation, and management of projects through coordination with all city departments in the development review process. You will also serve as contact with community and City staff on all process issues while disseminating,
coordinating, and providing information regarding City development requirements.
You will also be responsible for responding to questions and providing explanations for zoning, subdivision and site plan
ordinances for the public, consultants, developers and other City staff as requested. This position establishes and maintains lines
of communication and provides an integrated information network for the customer.
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Planning, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Civil Engineering or a closely related field and 3-5 years of experience in professional planning, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Project Management certification preferred.
