Under limited supervision, performs complex and specialized planning assignments such as case management for land development projects with significant impacts and the development of policies guiding future growth and development in the County. Reviews rezoning, special use, subdivision and other development proposals to ensure compliance with the County Codes and the Comprehensive Plan. Serves as a team member and/or team leader in self-directed work teams engaged in planning projects and or plan reviews. Reviews and analyzes land development applications; interprets and applies relevant ordinances, standards, codes, plans and policies; and presents findings and recommendations to the Planning Commission, the Board of Supervisors, and other commissions and committees, as assigned. Reports to the Director of Planning, Assistant Director of Planning, or Assistant Director of Planning.
Minimum Qualification: Master’s Degree in Urban and Regional Planning, or a closely related field, and a minimum of three (3) years of plan review, plan design, land use planning, comprehensive planning, GIS, or related work experience; or a Bachelor’s Degree in Urban and Regional Planning and a minimum of five (5) years of plan review, plan design, land use planning, comprehensive planning, GIS, or related work experience; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
