Processes in-house payroll for 4,000 employees utilizing an automated time and attendance system and integrated payroll system in the centralized Payroll Division of Finance.
Processes regular and supplemental payments for weekly and semi-monthly payroll; performs complex payroll calculations; verifies information from relevant forms, audits, corrects and balances discrepancies.
Applies in-depth knowledge of payroll principals including federal, state, and City laws and regulations, deductions, and benefits that affect the payroll processes.
Financial administration of health benefits, including Health Insurance, Dental Insurance, and Vision Insurance, for approximately 450 retirees. Reviews for accuracy, interprets laws and regulations regarding benefit eligibility, initiates deductions, researches and resolves discrepancies.
Researches inquiries regarding gross pay, salary, deductions, retirement, and retroactive pay; interprets and explains payroll policies and procedures to internal and external customers.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
