NETWORK ENGINEER/PROJECT MANAGER
The Town of Culpeper’s Information Technology Department is seeking qualified applicants for a Network Engineer/Project Manager.
Primary functions include: support wide area networks (WANs) and local area networks (LANs) consisting of complex architecture; assist in routine activities related to implementation, configuration, coordination, control, maintenance, troubleshooting, reporting, compliance, security, recovery, usage monitoring of the networked environment, application, and infrastructure security threats; develop effective compliance, security and recovery strategies for software systems, networks, data centers, cabling, and hardware; perform security assessments, including assessing risks, identify solutions, and mitigating controls; ensure development and adherence to approved security and disaster recovery procedures and compliance requirements; and perform related tasks as required.
Skills & Qualifications: Candidate must have general knowledge of information technology industry and best practices; general knowledge of networking and security; general knowledge of the relationship and technologies used between applications, server, computers, networking and end point operating environments and configuration standards; ability to analyze, problem solve , troubleshoot, and recommend solutions; ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; ability to work independently and use independent judgement; ability to prioritize multiple tasks and assignment; and ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Education & Experience: Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with major coursework in computer science or a related field and at least 3 years of experience supporting information technology systems with some experience specifically in cyber and network security.
Preferred Qualifications: Industry standard license and certification such as Certified Ethical Hacker, Security, or OSCP preferred.
