Minority Business Development Coordinator

Help the Charlottesville Office of Economic Development deliver on its mission to serve as a catalyst for public and private initiatives that create employment opportunities and a vibrant and sustainable economy.
This position performs professional work related to the coordination of the City’s Minority Business Program including outreach and technical assistance to internal and external stakeholders, and facilitation of cooperative resource networks for stakeholders in minority business development. Actively participates with the Office of Economic Development team, participating in other programs and projects as assigned.
This position allows the Office of Economic Development (OED) the opportunity to enhance existing services, programs, and offerings, as well as create new and innovative efforts to help advance minority- and women-owned businesses in Charlottesville. Additionally, this position will allow for better collaboration with the Division of Procurement’s Minority Business Procurement Coordinator as an integrated Minority Business Program is developed and implemented.
Hiring amount will be between $22.69 and $31.30 an hour ($47,191.51 to $65,104 annually). Starting offer is based on applicable education, experience, and internal equity. Full-time, non-exempt, position. – Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in psychology, marketing and/or communications, business, public administration or a related field.
– A minimum of two years of professional experience in business, public administration or marketing/communications.
– Position requires possession of a valid driver’s license issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia by employment start date and must be eligible to operate a City vehicle.
