Marina Attendant – Part Time

What would a typical day on the job be like — what work would I do?
Do you have a passion for working outside on the water and interacting with customers? This may be the job for you! As a Marina Attendant, your job duties and responsibilities are critical for operating a safe and efficient marina!
On a normal day, you will perform or assist with essential maintenance of the marina facilities, which can range from installing deck boards to installing water pipes. You will also be responsible for monitoring the marina and boats for any concerns or safety hazards that may occur. The Marina Attendant is also responsible for dispensing fuel into boats and completing sewage pump-outs.
This position has frequent interaction with the public and others outside of your work facility, so customer service skills will come in handy! You will also have to receive and log payments as necessary. This position reports directly to the Dockmaster.
What will I learn on the job?
As a Marina Attendant, you will continue to develop your maritime skills. If you do not have prior marina experience, don’t worry, we will teach you everything you need to know to be successful in your position! You will have the opportunity to learn about marina operations, safety best practices, and have the opportunity to interact with other employees in different positions within the department, allowing you to gain knowledge of the City and other processes.
What are the qualifications for this position?
This position requires a satisfactory results from a pre-employment medical. An acceptable general background check to include a local and state criminal history and sex offender registry check prior to employment will also be required.
To qualify for this position, you must be at least 18 years or older and have six months of customer service or related work experience. Candidates will need to have an understanding of customer service, basic safety precautions, and time management. There is no required experience or education needed for this position, but previous experience in a marina environment is preferred.
