Management Analyst – Sustainability and Resilience

Job Description:

What You’ll Be Doing
This professional-level position is located in the Office of Emergency Management with a focus on building a resilient and sustainable Leesburg. The position is generally project management performing research, planning, outreach, and training with a primary focus on conservation, sustainability, and emergency management related topics that have a Town-wide impact. Work is performed and evaluated under the general supervision of the Town’s Emergency Management Coordinator, in accordance with departmental standards, policies, and procedures.

This is an essential classification. Upon declaration of a disaster and/or emergency, the employee is required to work on site to support incident management activities.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Public Administration, Urban Planning, Public Policy, Urban Design, Emergency Management, Engineering, Environmental Sciences, or a related field; minimum of 2 years direct local government work that includes, but not limited to, management, facility operations, supervision of staff, budgeting, planning, emergency preparedness, and/or environmental and sustainability programs. This experience may have been obtained through part-time work or internships; FEMA National Incident Management Training to include IS-100, IS-200, IS-700 and IS-800 within 6 months of hire; possession of a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record.
