Maintenance Worker I

Job Description:

Career Development Program
The Town’s Public Works and Capital Projects- Streets Division offers a career development program. The purpose of this program is to recognize and compensate those individuals who have acquired additional or advanced work related knowledge, skills and abilities during their career with the Town’s Streets Division. This program provides a career development plan based on an employee’s performance, training and length of service.

What You’ll Be Doing
This position involves responsible skilled and semiskilled maintenance work in the Department of Public Works and Capital Projects- Streets Division that can include performing maintenance and repair activities on Town streets, parks and grounds. Work also includes assisting with special community events. Work requires working outdoors in all types of weather conditions. This position generally works Monday-Friday from 6:30am-2:30pm, including some holidays and weekends for special events and/or being on-call for operational needs. Possession of a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class B is required.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Possession of a high school diploma or completion of a GED. Minimum of one (1) year of experience performing a variety of skilled trades &/or maintenance work. Basic knowledge of landscaping tools, equipment and construction skills. Possession of a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class B and a safe driving record. Certification in CPR/AED and First Aid or ability to obtain within six (6) months of employment.
