Transportation (Street Maintenance): MTI Position #1337-1493 Pay Scale $25,505.61 – $28,756.33
Performs skilled and semi-skilled work in the operation of heavy motorized equipment and manual tasks such as shoveling, raking and sweeping involved with street maintenance. Equipment used includes dump truck, heavy and light equipment and various hand tools. Makes repairs to streets, alleys, road shoulders, medians, curbs and sidewalks. Operates heavy and light equipment in snow removal and assists with emergency tasks, including some nights and weekends as needed. Maintain accurate log sheets, checklists and pre-trip sheets. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one to three years related experience and or training in street maintenance, driving/operating a dump truck and the performance of heavy manual labor; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Requires possession of a valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License with an N (Tanker) endorsement or obtain endorsement within 6 months of employment. Basic Work Zone Traffic Control certification is a plus. Regular position hours are 6:30 am-3:00 pm-Mon.-Fri.
