Library Services Specialist – (FT)
Provides customer service in person, by phone and virtually
Participates in departmental strategic teams to develop system policies and procedures.
Requires a general knowledge of bookstore clerk/library functions and services
Conducts reference questions to assess customer needs; research customers’ information requests using print and online resources; provides readers’ advisory
Skills in organization and time management
Skills in communicating effectively with a variety of audiences and individuals from diverse backgrounds
Marketing materials and/or creating displays
Ability to develop leadership and team building skills.
Conducts library tours; provides technology assistance on computers and devices
Checks materials in and out; assesses and collects fines and fees
Registers new library customers; performs basic information searches, using search engines, online databases, library catalog resources
