Intern I – Circuit Court Judge (Law Clerk)

Job Description:

The preferred hiring range will be between $18.00 – $20.00 an hour. This internship/clerkship is 40 hours per week and is expected to last from late-May to late-August 2023.

This internship will provide assistance to the Circuit Court Judge and his chambers primarily with case law and research. Under close supervision, the primary purpose of this position is to fulfill a specific programmatic need in a department that may be part of a larger project or is work that fulfills a critical need that helps the work unit meet their goals and objectives, providing exposure to operations.
This is developmental work designed to provide university students and recent graduates with meaningful entry-level professional work. The assignments require application of university-level knowledge typically gained in profession-specific curriculum typically found in local government.

An attached Resume is required with this application; Cover letter optional.

Minimum Qualifications:
-Completion of at least one year of law school is required by start date of internship.

Experience:
-None. Practicums, other internships, volunteer experience or certifications/licenses related to the work assignment may be preferred.
