Human Resources Generalist
Provides counsel, support, and guidance necessary to meet the human resource needs of the City. Performs a variety of professional and analytical work to include recruitment and selection, job classifications and compensation analyses, and employee relations for assigned departments. Participates in the planning, development, and coordination of policies, procedures, and programs in all areas of the human resources function.
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Public or Business Administration, the Social Sciences or related field. PHR/SPHR/SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP/IPMA-CP/IPMA-SCP certification preferred. Some supervisory or team leader experience preferred. A minimum of three (3) years of responsible experience in human resources in the areas of recruitment, screening, interviewing and selection, position classification and compensation, employee relations, legal compliance, organizational development, and training. Thorough knowledge of principles, practices and laws in the human resources field. Knowledge of local government organization and operation preferred.
