Human Resources Analyst II/III
The City of Virginia Beach is seeking to fill a Human Resources Analyst position in the Employee Relations division. If you are a business minded HR professional that has supported a very large business unit and you enjoy the challenging aspects of human resources, this is the career for you. The successful candidate will have significant tenure in human resources and a background in managing employee relations casework, preferably in a public sector environment.
These positions may be filled as a Human Resources Analyst II or Human Resources Analyst III depending on qualifications of the selected candidate(s).
Human Resources Analyst II: (Pay Range: A10 $53,476.80 – $81,078.40 DOQ)
Requires any combination of education (above the high school level) and/or experience equivalent to eight (8) years in fields utilizing the required knowledge, skills and abilities and associated with such positions as Human Resources Specialist or Analyst.
Human Resources Analyst III: (Pay Range: A10 $59,030.40 – $89,502.40 DOQ)
Requires any combination of subject-related education (above the high school level) and experience equivalent to ten (10) years in fields utilizing the required knowledge, skills, and abilities and associated with such positions as HR Specialist or Analyst or Generalist; Platform Trainer / Training Instructor.
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in related field
Expertise in all aspects of public sector labor relations as outlined in the description of typical responsibilities and the ability to exercise good judgment.
Experience applying state and federal laws related to labor relations including EEO, FLSA, FMLA, ADA.
Ability to develop good working relationships with a variety of stakeholders and to maintain a professional and cordial demeanor at all times.
Skill in communicating and interacting with others on complex matters with concision, both orally and in writing.
Experience working as a lead with assigned staff.
Experience developing and presenting training and other presentations.
Familiarity with other public sector human resources activities.
HRCI or SHRM certifications
Labor Relations Masters certification
Public sector experience
