Hospital Police Officer – Flex
Job Description:
Provides professional law enforcement services to Carilion New River Valley Medical Center. These services include carrying out the objectives of the Clinic, the preservation of peace and protection of life and property, the prevention of crime and the enforcement of laws.
Performs specific job responsibilities:
Locates and investigates suspicious conditions and complaints by responding to calls and patrolling Carilion Clinic facilities for security breaches such as unlocked doors and open windows.
Assists and coordinates with outside law enforcement agencies while they are interacting with hospital services, visitors, patients or staff.
Guards and/or provides security for prisoners, mental health patients, special events, dignitaries and staff when a need is identified.
Responds quickly and professionally to all calls for service involving traffic, criminal or non-criminal incidents and requests for information or assistance.
Enforces laws, investigates crimes and processes crime scenes.
Directs traffic while monitoring and enforcing parking regulations.
Writes and files all required reports in a timely manner.
