Head Lifeguard (Full Time)

Job Description:

What You’ll Be Doing
This is a supervisory, technical, and customer service position that involves overseeing the safe and effective operation of buildings, facilities, and equipment with primary emphasis on the swimming pools at Ida Lee Park Recreation Center and the A.V. Symington Aquatic Center. Work includes administrative functions, lifesaving assistance, ensuring the safe use of the pool facilities, and safeguarding the conduct of pool patrons. Additional responsibilities include maintaining records, facility maintenance, and enforcing established policies and procedures. Work also involves responsibility for assisting in the training of new lifeguards; and working special events, when required. The work schedule will require early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Minimum Qualifications:
High school graduate or GED. Minimum two (3) years of experience as a lifeguard or equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Demonstrate a high level of maturity, responsibility, and strong leadership skills. Certified in American Red Cross Lifeguarding, CPR for the Professional Rescuer. Certified Pool Operator (CPO) or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment. Certified Lifeguard Instructor or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment
