Golf Services Attendant – Part Time
What would a typical day on the job be like — what work would I do?
Do you enjoy providing excellent customer service and working outdoors? Well, this may be the perfect opportunity for you!
The Golf Services Attendant is responsible for maintaining outside golf services for patrons at the Deer Run Golf Course in Newport News! Day to day, you can expect to perform a variety of responsibilities related to the operation of the golf course itself! You’ll be the smiling face that greets guests upon arrival to the course, schedule tee times, and matches walk-up players into groups. You’ll need a keen eye for detail to check receipts or accuracy verify the number of players per game, and issue golf cart rentals to players.
In order to ensure a quality game, and customer service, you will need to monitor the pace of golfers playing at the course. This may include having to explain rules to players, or basic golf etiquette if needed. Before golf carts are rented to players, they must be clean, staged, and ready at the staging area! This will be one of your main responsibilities, and can be done in between serving customers. If you ever see any litter or debris on the golf course, you will be expected to pick up litter, and empty waste receptacles if needed.
Communication skills are essential in this position, as you will frequently interact with customers and need to provide top-notch customer service to all patrons! This is a great opportunity to get your foot in the door with the City of Newport News! We are always looking for excited and hardworking employees to join our team!
