Forensic Interviewer/Case Coordinator
Job Description:
Responsible to: Child Advocacy Center Director
Responsibilities: The Forensic Interviewer/Case Coordinator works collaboratively with partnering agencies to schedule forensic interviews of suspected victims of child abuse; providing developmentally and culturally appropriate and non-leading, legally defensible forensic interviews of children and adolescents in cases of alleged sexual and physical abuse and other cases of alleged child maltreatment referred to the FVSAU Child Advocacy Center; maintain or obtain qualifications through training and peer review; remain current with forensic interviewing, child abuse, and child development research and literature and best practices; provide court testimony as required; provide written documentation regarding interviews conducted; enter data into case tracking system and complete client file notes; participate in and document monthly case review meetings; assist advocate, therapist, and other treatment providers in the development of treatment plans for child victims and their non-offending family members.
Requirements:
• Successful background checks.
• Possess a bachelor’s degree in social work, counseling, criminal justice, or other human services related field with experience working in a human services environment.
• Able to complete an approved forensic interview training program if not already trained.
