What You’ll Be Doing
Under general supervision, this position is responsible for performing skilled mechanical repair work on a diversified fleet of trucks, automobiles, and light/heavy equipment; and performs related duties as required.
High school diploma/GED; possession of a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record; possession of a Commercial Driver’s license or ability to obtain within six (6) months of employment; minimum of three (3) years of experience in vehicle and equipment maintenance and repair; within one (1) year of employment must obtain: two (2) ASE certifications in either Automotive or Medium/Heavy Truck category with at least one (1) in Automotive or Medium/Heavy Brakes, and Forklift Certification.
Career Development Program
The Town’s Fleet Maintenance Division offers a career development program. The purpose of this program is to recognize and compensate those individuals who have acquired additional or advanced work related knowledge, skills and abilities during their career with the Town’s Department of Public Works and Capital Projects. This program provides a career development plan based on an employee’s performance, training and length of service.
