Firefighter I/EMT B
Job Description:
Performs intermediate protective services work providing fire suppression, emergency medical care and hazardous materials handling usually under emergency conditions. A large percentage of calls are for emergency medical care. Duties include: emergency preparedness, community education, station and apparatus maintenance. The job is physically demanding requiring lifting over 100 pounds, climbing, crawling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling and lifting.
Requirements: Must be 18-years or older; have a valid HSD [or GED]; VA driver’s license, clean driving record, Firefighter 1 and EMT-B certifications. Preference will be given to applicants with EVOC, Firefighter I, and Basic Pump Operation certifications.
The position is full-time, working 24-hours on/48-hour off shifts. Must work nights, week-ends and holidays. Salary: $41,000. A sign-up bonus of $2,000 is available for certified applicants upon being hired.
