The Town of Bedford is seeking a skilled professional, preferably with municipal experience, to join its management team in the position of Finance Director. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all business operations of the Town including all Town revenues and expenditures. The General Fund, Solid Waste Fund, and Electric Fund total over $33 million. In addition to supervising all employees of the Finance Department, this individual will also be responsible for providing strategic expertise and guidance to the Town Manager and Town Council. The Finance Director serves concurrently as the Town Treasurer and is also the staff member who is primarily responsible for annual budget and audit preparation activities. The Town has been recognized by GFOA for excellence in budgeting and financial reporting for multiple years on an ongoing basis. Familiarity with those award processes is strongly preferred. Required: education and experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in business, accounting, finance, economics, or a related field.
