Facility Maintenance Technician I
Seeking an innovative and highly motivated team player who has the ability/skills to maintain or inspect condition of buildings, structures, fixtures, equipment, such as pumps, motors, belts, hoses, valves, and outside structures for needed maintenance or repairs.
Applicant should have the ability to Initiate installation, modification, construction, maintenance or repair actions in response to inspections or work orders. Is capable of estimating materials and determine tools, support equipment, or other things needed for job; Able to secure needed items and transport to job site.
Applicant must have the ability to perform “indoor” and maintenance including painting, pressure washing, carpentry, plumbing, electrical or mechanical repairs, fixture moving or repair, housekeeping, and other. Also have the ability to perform “outdoor” maintenance including concrete work, pressure washing, painting, roof replacing or repairs, structure repair, and other.
Applicant must have the ability to operate a forklift and/or Scissor lift, and aerial lift, as well as, other power tools and equipment.
Applicant will assist other Water Production and Public Utilities sections with maintenance tasks. Able to maintain job-related forms such as logs, activity reports, material reports, and perform preventive maintenance. Perform Monthly Inspections as assigned.
Be able to perform Stand by duties as assigned.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Employees may be expected to work hours in excess of, and/or outside of, their normally scheduled hours in response to short-term department needs and/or City-wide emergencies. Emergency operations support work and work locations may be outside of normal job duties.
