Job Description:
The Rappahannock Area Office on Youth and Group Home Commission is actively recruiting for the position of Executive Director. Candidates should possess a social services, human services, or juvenile justice background as well as managing a complex regional government agency.
The Executive Director position works directly for a seven-member Commission composed of representatives from three jurisdictions: Stafford County, Spotsylvania County, and the City of Fredericksburg. The Executive Director will perform complex professional and administrative work that will include the leadership of the organization, strategic planning, budget and finance, human resources management, and compliance with state and federal oversight of the agency and its mission. The successful candidate should possess skill in working with diverse groups of stakeholders, and be knowledgeable in meeting and identifying service-related needs of at-risk youth. Additionally, the candidate should be able to communicate effectively, create and manage organizational change, and build excellent community relationships.
A bachelor’s degree in social services, education, public administration, or a related field is required. Five or more years of experience in a human services agency is preferred. At least three years working with children in some capacity is required. Three or more years of managerial experience preferred.
Salary DOQ but with a hiring range of $85,000 – $95,000. Competitive benefits include membership in the Virginia Retirement System and health insurance.
