General Statement of Job:
Under general supervision, this position initiates, develops, administers and formulates special floodplain management programs, to include, updating flood maps, plans and policies, and other activities related to the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP). Reports to the Director of Planning.
Education, Experience & Special Requirements:
Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Planning/Studies, Floodplain Management, Planning, Emergency Management, Civil Engineering, Hydrology/Hydraulics, a related field, and 5 – 6 years of progressively responsible experience in managing and implementing floodplain programs and policies, site development plans review, land use planning, resilience and hazard mitigation, a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must possess and maintain a Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) Certification.
A valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
